Classic Steamboat to Return to Memphis
Thursday, April 19, 2012 -Backbeat Tours welcomes the American Queen back to Memphis! On April 27, the Great American Steamboat Company will launch its inaugural voyage to the upper Mississippi from the dock here in Memphis. A christening ceremony will be held in the early evening with performances by local musicians, a bottle of champagne crashing against the stern, and the sounds of the American Queen Calliope as she steams up the Mississippi River. We'll be there to enjoy the celebration -- y'all come by!
