7th Annual Cooper-Young Garden Walk — May 21 & 22, 2022

It’s the largest garden walk in the South, y’all! The Cooper-Young Garden Walk is a self-guided, self-paced tour of over 100 eclectic, private gardens and businesses highlighting urban gardening throughout the vibrant Midtown neighborhood. Visitors will see edibles, chickens, herbs, water features, art, native plants, whimsy, she-sheds, composting, a backyard theater and imaginative plantings.

Stay for a few hours or see all the gardens over the course of the weekend. Backbeat’s “Love & Happiness” bus will be making free shuttle loops through the neighborhood all weekend: hop on and hop off at your leisure!

Date & time: 9am-4pm, May 21 & 22. Rain or shine. Tickets are good for both days.

Prices: $20 Early Bird General Admission (before May 8; also enters you into weekly drawings for fun prizes), or $25 General Admission (May 9-May 22)

Princess Baker @ the Castle

Join Backbeat’s own Princess Baker, aka Cashmer, for an evening of blues and R&B. The lady can flat-out sing, you won’t want to miss this!

Sundays at 8:00pm at the Castle House of Rhythm & Blues #2 (2356 Jackson Ave.) The Castle has good food and drinks (not included); doors open at 6:30pm.
